Court orders Sen. Adeleke to present certificate next week amid alleged forgery

The Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo has ordered Senator Ademola Adeleke to present his original certificate come Wednesday, August 1, 2018.
The presiding judge, Justice David Ademola declared that it would be inequitable not to allow the lawmaker to show his school leaving certificate to court if he has any.
DAILY POST reports that Rasheed Olabayo and Oluwaseun Idowu had approached the court, claiming that Senator Adeleke did not possess Certificate as required by Section 177 (d) of the 1999 constitution.
The applicants asked the court to set aside the July 21st, 2018 primary election which produced him as the party’s flagbearer.
While ruling on the ex-parte application filed by the two members of the opposition party on Thursday, Justice Oladimeji explained that granting the leave to restrain the PDP from presenting Adeleke as its governorship candidate over his inability to present his certificate may subject the court to mockery if the Senator presents the certificate thereafter.
According to the judge, “It will be inequitable not to allow the respondent to come and show his certificate if he has any but if given the opportunity to present side of the case, the balance which is necessary for interlocutory injunction would be adequately considered.”
He explained further that the ex-parte injunction has only seven days lifespan and that there were still window left open till August 8 according to the affidavits sworn to by the applicants.
He said “being an election matter, it is my conviction that the public will not be uninterested in the proceedings of this court. Once a matter is before a court any party cannot take a further step without the express permission of the court”.

The matter was adjourned till Wednesday, August 1, 2018 for definite hearing.

Why 14 Senators, 37 Reps dumped APC – Fayose

Ayodele Fayose, outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, has highlighted reasons some lawmakers in the National Assembly defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Fayose said the lawmakers defected due to their love for Nigerians.
DAILY POST had reported that no fewer than 15 senators of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Tuesday, have defected from the party. The defectors cited crisis and factions as the reasons for their defection, saying they cannot continue to pursue their political careers under the ruling party.
Similarly, a total of 37 members of the House of Representatives announced their official defectionfrom the All Progressives Congress, APC. While 33 moved to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 4 moved to another party.
Reacting to the move, Fayose insisted that the defection of the lawmakers was long overdue.
Speaking during a visit to the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, Fayose commended the lawmakers who defected from the APC.
According to Fayose, “It is long overdue. All the shenanigans in Ekiti, all the manipulations in Ekiti, this was one of the reasons they did that to make sure they intimidate and prevent them from carrying out this national defection.
“They are defecting because of Nigerians, not PDP. Just that PDP is the credible alternative.
“If you look at killings, nobody even counts anymore. It has gone beyond counting. What they do represents the feeling of Nigerians.”

FG Arraigns Melaye over Allegation of Attempted Suicide, Granted Bail

The federal government Wednesday arraigned the Senator representing the Kogi West senatorial district, Dino Melaye, before a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on a six-count charge, bordering on attempted suicide, attempt to escape from custody and damage of police’s property.

Counsel to the federal government, Dr. Alex Izinyon (SAN), had told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offences on April 24, 2018
The offences, according to the federal government, contravene the provisions of Sections 148,153,173,231, 326 and 327 of the Penal Code.
Izinyon alleged that Melaye, while being conveyed on a police vehicle to Lokoja, the state capital, forced his way out and escaped.
The prosecution claimed that the defendant after jumping out of the vehicle sat on the ground, holding a substance in one hand threatening to drink it to kill himself, so that he can put the police officers in trouble.
The senior advocate, in addition, told the court that Melaye broke the glass of the vehicle with his elbow and caused damage to police’s property.
Melaye however, pleaded not guilty to the charges when read.
Following his not guilty plea, his counsel moved his bail application, submitting that the offences of the defendant were bailable.
He also informed the court that Melaye is currently on bail granted him by an Abuja Magistrate Court over the same matter.
He therefore, urged the court to release his client on similar conditions given by the Magistrate Court.
Prosecution counsel however urged the court to decline the application, though he admitted that bail is at the discretion of the court.
In a short ruling, Justice Oriji admitted Melaye to bail in the sum of N5 million and two sureties in like sum.
The sureties, who must be directors in the civil service, are to be residents of the FCT, and depose to affidavits of means.
Justice Oriji however, hinted that the case file would be forwarded to the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court to be assigned to another judge for trial after the vacation period.

7 Signs You Don't Drink Enough Water

7 Signs You Don't Drink Enough Water

Daily water consumption is a healthy habit that every person should incorporate into her routine. But, how do you know if you drink enough water?

This liquid, which is the base of all of our drinks, plays a fundamental role in our health. First off, water is present in the functions of all of our organs.

Its absorption in the body optimizes circulation. Also, it improves the oxygenation of cells. And, it helps to keep our tissues in good condition.

Also, it is essential for the detoxification processes of the excretory system. And, it combines with waste in the body to facilitate its elimination.

The problem is that many people do not drink enough water. And, as a consequence, the body must work much harder to perform its functions.

While at first there are not any side effects, little by little, dehydration starts to cause symptoms. And, these symtoms can affect your quality of life.

Because of this, it is very important to recognize the signs that you don’t drink enough water. And, after identifying them, increase your liquid intake as soon as possible.

Take note of these signs!

1. Constipation

Constipation is a digestive disorder that has to do with one’s inability, or difficulty, to eliminate feces from the body on a regular basis.

This triggers an inflammatory reaction in the intestine, alternating the activity of healthy bacteria and provoking the accumulation of excess gas.

It can appear because of poor diet choices. But, it is also frequent in those who do not drink enough water.

This liquid acts as an intestinal lubricant that facilitates the transport of wastes until they are eliminated.

2. Dry skin

The first signs that you don’t drink enough water show in the appearance of dry, dull skin.

Sure, it is true that these symptoms can be produced by external factors. However, you shouldn’t ignore the fact that if you don’t drink enough water, that may be the problem.

Water participates in the correct transport of blood through the veins. This is the key to maintaining optimal production of oils in the skin.

Without water, skin cells start to dry and the regeneration process cannot take place.

3. Dry tongue and mouth

If you don’t drink enough water, dehydration can cause dryness of the tongue and mouth. And, dehydration can reduce saliva production.

This usually starts without a constant feeling of thirstiness that, in general, can be taken care of by drinking water.

4. Under Eye Bags

Another esthetic issue that comes from drinking too little water is the appearance of bags under our eyes.

This symptom is caused by dehydration since it causes liquid retention and inflammation.

Additionally, if you don’t drink enough water, this interferes with the circulatory system. Basically, dehydration prevents blood from oxygenating the cells correctly.

In conclusion, this inevitably affects your skin health.

5. Muscle Pain

Drinking too little healthy liquids, like water, is a factor that influences the recurrence ofmuscle pain.

Water is essential for balancing the electrolytes in the body, a substance the regulates our muscle health.

Muscles need to be kept hydrated to make them strong and inflammation free.

6. Migraines

Strong head pain, like those you get from migraines, may originate because you don’t drink enough water. .

This is because dehydration affects the body’s ability to oxygenate the cellsand transport nutrients. This increases stress and tension in the skull.

Liquids are necessary for keeping the nervous system functioning properly and for keeping hormonal activity regular.

7. Changes In Urination

It isn’t necessary to have a professional take your urine sample to know that the body is dehydrated and urgently needs liquids.

Just analyzing your urination habits can help you see if you are drinking too little water and it is affecting your kidneys.

The person starts to go to the restroom less regularly and, when doing so, the urine has a strong yellow color.

It is possible that, due to the lack of liquid, the smell is stronger than usual.

Sometimes the feeling of needing the restroom may come about, only to get there and have nothing come out.

The tendency to get urinary infectionsincreases an alarming amount.

Do you identify yourself with any of these symptoms? If so, it would do a lot for you to start to drinking more water throughout the day.

Be sure to drink between 6 and 8 glasses a day, in addition to eating hydrating foods like fruits and vegetables.

30,000 tons cocoa processing factory ready for commissioning soon – Ayade

Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade has expressed satisfaction with ongoing work at the 30000 tonnes per annum cocoa processing plant in Ikom.

Ayade, who was visibly excited by the delivery of equipment for the plant, said the factory would soon be ready for commissioning.

“I am really impressed. As you can see, intellectual money is on display here. From what I have seen, the contractors deserve excellent pats on the back. This is what we call commitment and consistency,” the governor remarked.

He said the plant has the capacity to process cocoa beans to chocolate bars.

“Again, we are going to be the first in Africa as this is the first cocoa processing plant that will process cocoa beans to chocolate,” he stated.

He said with the delivery of the equipment, his vision for cocoa revolution in the state was crystalizing.

The governor, who said he knew from the first day he was sworn in, what he needed to do to enhance the economic well-being of the people, said the plant will bring about value-chain addition to cocoa, which will ultimately enrich cocoa farmers in the state.

“This is the spirit of intellectual money and Cross River ultimately will be proud that I knew where I was going from the beginning. I am following an agenda that at the end of my eight years in office, when every single citizen of the state remembers my days, he or she will say this young man had a great vision.

“For all the years gone by Cross River has been producing cocoa for other states to bear the name because we did not have an off-take mechanism, we did not have a programme by government to buy off the cocoa at good rates. So, outsiders used to come in and buy the cocoa from us and grade it as cocoa from their own state,” he stated.

The plant, which will soon be operational, now offers cocoa farmers in the state “the opportunity, platform and industry to process their own cocoa, giving a premium value for money. A cocoa house is going to be built here. Once you have a cocoa farm, you just come here, collect money during harvest, we take your cocoa, so you have money for the product and you don’t have to go to bank to get a loan.”

Ayade urged the people of the central senatorial district t”o see the cocoa processing plant as their own baby by ensuring no harm comes to it.”
